Facial Procedures

Face Lift

A facelift is a surgical procedure that improves visible signs of aging in the face and neck, such as:

  • Relaxation of the skin of the face causing sagging
  • Deepening of the fold lines between the nose and corner of the mouth
  • Fat that has fallen or has disappeared
  • Jowls
  • Loose skin and excess fat of the neck that can appear as a double chin or “turkey neck”

Neck Lift

The neck lift, or platysmaplasty, is a procedure that is designed to tighten the neck through an incision just behind the chin. It is best for patients with neck laxity without jowling and may be coupled with neck liposuction. The procedure does not actually remove excess skin, and so it works best in patients who retain some elasticity in the neck skin (ideally patients in their 30s or 40s).

This is an outpatient procedure with an average duration time between 1 to 1.5 hours. Anesthesia is provided and this can be either local or general. Patients can expect typical at home recovery time to between 7-10 days.

Brow Lift

As we age, unsightly wrinkle lines may appear on the forehead and frown lines between the brows can make us look angry or “too serious.” Skin relaxation may cause the eyebrows to drop, hooding our upper eyelids and making us look tired. If you are bothered by these signs of aging in the brow region, a brow lift may be right for you.

A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, reduces the wrinkle lines that develop horizontally across the forehead, as well as those that occur on the bridge of the nose and between the eyes. Brow lifts improve frown lines, the vertical creases that develop between the eyebrows. Patients will also see results that raise sagging brows that are hooding the upper eyelids, in addition to placing the eyebrows in an alert and youthful position

Eyelid Surgery

An upper eyelid lift involves removing a strip of skin from the natural crease of the upper eyelid. The effect of this is to remove excess skin that is folding over and onto the upper eyelashes and to tighten any crepie skin. Also, any excess fat that creates a bulge may also be removed.

A lower eyelid lift involves removing a strip of skin and muscle from just below the eyelid margin and removing any lower eyelid fat that is forming a bag. This flattens the contour of the lower eyelid while tightening any crepie skin.

This is an outpatient procedure with local or general anesthesia. The average duration time of the procedure is about 1 to 1.5 hours and recovery time is between 5-7 days.

Ear Surgery including earlobe repair

The otoplasty procedure allows “pinning back” of the ear, making the ear less visible from the front. The upper, middle, and lower parts of the ear may protrude differently on each side, so we customize the plan to ensure a symmetric, normal-looking end result.

This is an outpatient procedure with local or general anesthesia. The average duration time of the procedure is about 3 hours. Typical at home recovery time is between 1 to 2 weeks.

In addition to otoplasty, Dr. Pierce offers earlobe repair. This could be due to split earlobes, elongated earlobes, or other.
