A brachioplasty in Scottsdale typically takes approximately 3 hours. The procedure is an outpatient surgery that is done in the operating room under general anesthesia. It would be considered a moderately painful procedure. No drains are required but you will need to wear a compression garment for a minimum of 2 weeks or longer if needed. You will usually have a scar from the armpit to the elbow. There will be swelling and bruising for the first few weeks after surgery.
Yes. We will try to hide the scar as much as possible but you will have a scar from the groin to the knee. This scar fades over time but is permanent.
It would depend on what type of work you do but you should plan on taking 2-4 weeks off of work to heal.
Liposuction of the inner arm is usually part of a brachioplasty and not an additional procedure. If you have a large amount of fat, we might recommend weight loss or a 2 stage procedure with liposuction as the first procedure and skin excision as a second procedure.
Brachioplasty is moderately painful/uncomfortable. You will be given pain medications.
