Eyelid surgery typically lasts between 1 to 2 hours, varying based on the specific needs of the patient.
The procedure is an outpatient surgery that can be done in the office under local anesthesia but, if more complex, it would be done in the operating room under general anesthesia. Sutures are placed and removed around 5 days.
There is minimal discomfort but you may have some swelling and bruising that usually resolves in 2 weeks.

After surgery, you will be instructed to keep your head elevated, avoid eye strain and place iced pads on your eyes intermittently. You will also use drops to keep your eyes moist. We will see you back in the office around 5 days after surgery, 6-8 weeks after surgery and at 6 months.

An upper lid blepharoplasty involves removing skin from the upper eyelid and a thin scar will be present. This scar is difficult to see after everything is healed but everyone heals differently. A lower lid blepharoplasty may or may not have a visible scar depending on the type of blepharoplasty performed.
It would depend on what surgery is performed (upper, lower or upper and lower) and if the procedure is done in the office or in the operating room.
Absolutely. Eyelid surgery can be performed with other face, body or breast procedures.
You may have some discomfort but eyelid surgery is generally not very painful.
That would depend on what kind of work you do. You would want to avoid eye strain for the first few days until your sutures are removed and we want you to avoid heart rate elevation for 2 weeks after surgery to minimize swelling and bruising.
